Our Officers

The officers for the Get Well Gabby Foundation… help us grow and fulfill our vision to find a cure for childhood cancer.

Carolynn Vogel – President

Carolynn.Vogel@getwellgabby.org

Carolynn holds a degree in Management from The Pennsylvania State University. After graduating she worked for several years in a supervisor and management role for several different companies. She left her corporate positions to take care of her children full time. She was very active in her community until her daughter Gabriella was diagnosed with a “rare” form of brain cancer. During Gabby’s cancer journey and after she lost her battle, Carolynn learned many new and interesting facts about childhood cancer. Some of the things that she learned were the lack of funding for childhood cancers, the lack of awareness that children get cancer, and the minimal amount of money that large cancer organizations give to childhood cancer treatments. Together with her husband they formed the foundation in memory of their daughter. They have vowed to fight for a cure so no other family has to go through what their family has endured. Carolynn currently resides in Delaware with her family.

John Vogel – Vice President

John.Vogel@getwellgabby.org

John holds a degree in Management from The Pennsylvania State University. After graduating, John has successfully worked in the field of sales, finance, and management. His last career was managing a retail bank worth $104 million. John’s reputation in his career was stellar and he was recognized by top management for his performance. While John’s youngest daughter was battling cancer, he did all of the research regarding the best treatments, clinical trials, and treatment centers that would accommodate his daughter’s needs. John has also become the spokesperson of their family. He has communicated with local media regarding events that raise awareness for childhood cancer, as well as using social media to inform the world the raw emotions of what his family is going through. John and his wife are determined to make a difference in the world of Childhood Cancer. John is currently residing in Delaware with his family.

Prior to completing his MBA, he has spent several years in investment banking at both Ernst & Young and Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin. Eric’s wife was Gabby’s teacher for several classes at the local YMCA and as a result he became aware and actively involved in both her battle and continuing legacy.

Becky LeCates- Secretary

Becky.Lecates@getwellgabby.org

Becky graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Elementary Education. While attending college, she had a year-long internship in the Child Life Department at AI DuPont Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, DE. Becky worked one-on-one with children in the oncology unit, planning and implementing activities to give them a sense of normalcy while in the hospital. She taught preschool for five years, and then was a first grade teacher in the Tredyffrin Easttown School District for eight years. She is currently a stay-at-home mom to Matthew and Anna. Becky is extremely active in her community, as well as the schools in which her children attend. She has held several positions on the Home and School board, and is currently Vice President. Becky’s true passion is children and she has devoted her life to teaching. Becky began her involvement in Gabby’s journey on the day she was diagnosed. She and Gabby’s mom, Carolynn, are lifelong friends for well over 30 years. When she heard the devastating news of Gabby’s illness, Becky immediately jumped into action, fund raising and gathering volunteers to surround her family with support. Becky is dedicated to the Get Well Gabby Foundation and believes in its promise to help families and children dealing with a cancer diagnosis.
