We are less than 24 hours away from The First Annual Get Well Gabby Softball Tournament!!!!
Please join us tomorrow at the KYAL Fields in Kimberton, PA, at the corner of Route 113 and Seven Stars Road – Right next to the Kimberton Fairgrounds and The Kimberton Firehouse. (Google Map)
Opening Ceremonies: 8 AM
Kids Activities: 10 AM until 2 PM
Gabby’s Daddy, John, is hosting our opening ceremonies. We are recording them for a video for our website. You won’t want to miss them!
We really hope to make the opening ceremonies large and as amazing. Please, if you wish to be part of the festivities, plan to be seated in the bleachers no later than 8:00 AM.
FREE kids activities from 10am include an arts and crafts table, face painter, a balloon artist, tattoos, run the bases, a home run derby, nail painting with Piggy Paint nail polish, and just some overall fun!
We have a concessions stand, bake sale, raffle baskets, 50/50 raffle, merchandise table and 10 awesome teams to cheer on to victory with a full day of games scheduled!
We Need Your Kids!
For those of you with kids in the Phoenixville area:
When John speaks during the opening ceremonies tomorrow morning, we want to have at least 46 kids with him: One to represent each child who is diagnosed with cancer every day.
If you are in the area and you would like your kids to help raise awareness for Childhood Cancer, your kids can be part of our opening ceremonies. We are looking for involvement from everyone!!!
Please reply to this email if your kids can be part of our opening ceremony. Tell us how many you are bringing and their ages. The more the merrier!!!
We need Scoreboard Operators!
We have 12 games scheduled on 3 fields, spanning almost 9 hours, with upwards of 120 players on site. We currently have ONE volunteer to operate the scoreboards for the games.
Each field has a digital scoreboard located in the outfield, controlled by a console in a score booth located above the dugouts. It would be a shame not to use them.
If you are familiar with the rules of softball and can spend some time, especially later in the day operating a scoreboard, please email Chris Giangiulio with your availability.
We need your Cheezy Poof Containers!
Do you have a large plastic container just laying around? You know, the ones that hold pretzels, candy or Cheezy Poofs?
If you have one of these containers you would be willing to part with, the Foundation needs a few for tomorrow. We will have a place where you can drop of washed containers with the labels removed. Thank you!
Don’t forget about our Book Drive!
We are collecting books to deliver to pediatric cancer patients who will be inpatient at area hospitals this holiday season. You can learn more about this on our website.
Bring a NEW book (or a gift card for books) to our collection point Saturday, and you’ll be entered in a drawing for some awesome giveaways, plus you’ll be brightening a child’s day who will be spending the holidays in the hospital.
Note: The children who get these books will be actively undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation. Their immune systems are very sensitive, and only new books can be given to them.
